On the night of April 30, drones of Ukraine's Security Service attacked the Murom Instrument-Building Plant in Russia's Vladimir region, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing sources in the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the sources, the plant specializes in the production of:

  • ammunition ignition systems;
  • components and products for the Russian Navy and military aviation.

During the attack, five explosions were reported at the plant. Preliminary information indicates that two buildings were struck, and a fire broke out.

The Murom Instrument-Building Plant is under sanctions by Ukraine and the European Union, as it plays a significant role in supporting Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. However, Ukraine's Security Service has decided to slightly expand those sanctions.

"Ukraine's Security Service continues to effectively target legitimate military objectives on the territory of the Russian Federation," the source added.

Explosions in Russia

Explosions are regularly recorded in Russia at oil depots, electrical substations, military warehouses, and defense industry plants. These "incidents" occur both in border regions and deep within the country, including areas near Moscow.

Some of the attacks are the result of operations by the Security Service of Ukraine and other Ukrainian special services, which actively use drones to strike strategic enemy targets. Such strikes are aimed at weakening Russia's logistics and military infrastructure.

For example, in early April, Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian plant Promsintez, one of the leading explosives production facilities.
