Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a large-scale attack on strategic targets in Russia and the occupied territories. The strikes targeted an oil refinery in Yaroslavl, fuel depots, and air defense systems, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Strikes on oil facilities and drone bases

Ukrainian forces successfully struck the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery in Russia’s Yaroslavl region, where a fire broke out following explosions.

The refinery is one of the key enterprises in Russia’s oil industry, with a processing capacity of around 15 million tons of oil per year, making it critically important for supporting Russian military logistics.

Ukrainian forces also struck a drone storage facility in Rostov-on-Don, the Luhanska oil depot, and fuel and lubricant storage sites in Petropavlivka and Novomykilske.

Destruction of equipment and communications hubs

The military also confirmed strikes on a Russian repair unit in Rovenky and several communications hubs in the areas of Zelenopillia, Novomykhailivka, and Kinski Rozdory.

In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed a Tor-M2 air defense missile system in the Zaporizhzhia region and a Kasta-2E radar station in occupied Crimea.

Attacks on Russian defense industry facilities

Ukraine also confirmed successful strikes on Russian defense production facilities that had been targeted earlier.

Among them were buildings belonging to the Sverdlov Plant in Dzerzhinsk, a facility involved in explosives production and the assembly of various types of aerial bombs.

Strikes were also reported on the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) Kedrovka arsenal in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region and the infrastructure of the Bryansk Chemical Plant in Seltso.

In recent days, attacks on Russia’s military and logistics infrastructure have intensified significantly.

On May 8, a drone strike on an air navigation services building in Rostov-on-Don disrupted operations at 13 airports in southern Russia. The shutdown led to numerous flight cancellations, leaving at least 14,000 passengers stranded in terminals.

That same morning, Ukrainian drones attacked the Chechen capital of Grozny.

Meanwhile, the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery in Perm came under attack for the third time in recent days. The facility is located more than 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
