Comprehensive strikes by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in April and on May 1 resulted in significant damage to the infrastructure of Tuapse, with total losses exceeding $300 million, according to a post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Damage to infrastructure in Tuapse

As a result of a series of coordinated strikes carried out by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over April and on May 1, significant destruction was recorded at port infrastructure facilities in the city of Tuapse.

Losses at the Tuapse oil refinery

Separate emphasis is placed on the damage inflicted on the Tuapse oil refinery. The damage affected key components of the facility, which impacted its operations.

Overall damage assessment

Total losses caused to both the port infrastructure and the refinery are estimated at more than 300 million US dollars, according to a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Tuapse: What is known

A large fire at the oil refinery in Tuapse that occurred after a drone attack on April 16 was accompanied by a dense smoke plume that spread over a significant distance and, according to recorded data, reached the territory of Stavropol.

After the April 20, 2026 attack, the loss of 24 storage tanks was confirmed, and another four were damaged. In addition, as a result of the strike on April 26 at the oil refinery in Yaroslavl, damage was recorded to a vacuum distillation unit, which is an important part of the crude oil refining process.

On the night of May 1, Tuapse in Russia was again targeted by drones of unknown origin. This incident became the fourth attack in a short period that caused consequences.

Footage appeared online showing the May 1 strike, during which units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit infrastructure at the Tuapse Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

It is also reported that after the fourth strike on the refinery in Tuapse on May 1, a reduction in its production capacity was recorded.
