Ukrainian forces are making gains on several frontlines. In particular, a significant portion of the front has been retaken in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia directions, according to a post by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"I worked in areas of active combat operations — the Pokrovsk, Dobropillia, and Siversk directions. I conducted inspections at the command posts of units carrying out combat missions in these sections of the front. The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the most challenging. Over the past week, our units have repelled about 350 enemy attacks," Syrskyi said.

He emphasized that Russian forces are concentrating their main efforts in the Pokrovsk direction, assembling the largest offensive grouping there.

Despite this, Defense Forces units have regained control over 26 sq. km of Ukrainian territory, after losing 5 sq. km in August. A similar favorable balance for Ukraine has been recorded in the Dobropillia direction.

"I listened to reports from commanders on the ground, including on issues that require urgent resolution. I issued the necessary orders to strengthen defensive resilience. We are supplying units with additional ammunition and drones, and reinforcing electronic warfare capabilities and fortifications," added the Commander-in-Chief.

Pokrovsk direction

Russian forces continue attempts to advance in the Donetsk region. According to the Dnipro Joint Strategic Grouping of Forces, the situation remains tense in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions.

Earlier reports noted that entering Pokrovsk is impossible due to active shelling, which hinders the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid.

Recently, it was reported that Ukrainian defenders managed to liberate the village of Novoekonomichne from Russian troops. It is located near Pokrovsk.

Reports also indicate that Russian forces are likely preparing for a "decisive breakthrough" in the Pokrovsk area, concentrating troops and equipment near the town. However, the Defense Forces are maintaining control and holding positions in the Pokrovsk direction.
