Russia continues to threaten Ukraine and the world, demonstrating a lack of willingness to negotiate peace. All of this must be met with a proportional and strong response, stated Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Commenting on threats from the Russian Foreign Ministry and calls for diplomats to leave Kyiv, he reminded that today more than 70 representatives of foreign diplomatic missions visited the sites of recent attacks and saw the consequences of Russian terror firsthand.
According to the minister, Ukraine is currently discussing with partners the need not to give in to Russian blackmail.
"Russia is trying to influence the Western mindset, whether through nuclear threats or joint exercises with Belarus. This is also a form of mockery of peace efforts. They show no signs of a peace process; on the contrary, they are escalating. Therefore, the world’s response must be proportional," the minister emphasized.
He said this includes aid packages for Ukraine, particularly air defense missiles, as Russia must understand that it will not achieve its military goals.
"He (Putin - ed.) needs to save his country now, which he will not succeed in doing. We discussed with our partners today exactly this firm response—not just in words, but in concrete actions. To show that Europe is not intimidated. To show that we know how to respond to such threats - with proportional strength," Sybiha said.
Russia threatens strikes on Kyiv

Head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation Andriy Kovalenko named the real reasons behind Russia’s new threats in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. According to him, there are three of them.
