Ukrainian drones are currently isolating Crimea, and as a result, it could effectively become an island in the near future, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said in an interview with the PRESSING YouTube channel.

"Crimea is being isolated by drones. And it looks like in the near future, Crimea will turn into an island," Fedorov said.

According to him, this could lead to very unexpected consequences for Russians.

At the same time, the minister did not disclose more detailed information regarding Ukraine's plans for Crimea.

Strikes on the Chonhar Bridge

The first strike on the Chonhar Bridge took place on June 7. After the attack, traffic across the crossing was restored in a reversible mode.

On June 9, the bridge again came under a drone attack, causing traffic to be suspended once more. After that, the local authorities recommended using alternative routes through Armiansk and Perekop.

The Center for Countering Disinformation stated that the Chonhar Bridge was destroyed after several drone attacks.

In addition, on the morning of June 10, a bridge between Henichesk and the Arabat Spit was closed in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. This was already the second important crossing where traffic had been suspended in recent days following the strikes on the Chonhar Bridge.

On the night of June 11, explosions were also heard in occupied Crimea. Local public pages reported fires in Simferopol and Sevastopol, as well as damage to bridges on the land approaches to the peninsula.

On June 13, the local authorities again reported attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on bridges leading to Crimea. According to Vladimir Saldo, drones struck the bridge between Henichesk and the Arabat Spit. After that, specialists inspected the structure.
