President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that finding an alternative to American aid will be extremely challenging. Without it, more and more Ukrainian soldiers "will be in hospitals," citing Fox News.

Zelenskyy said it would be difficult to find something similar to assistance from the US.

"We have to survive. We have to find some parallel steps or rules, but… you understand that this help is crucial. And it's very important," he said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that without American assistance, there will be "more and more such heroic guys who will be in the hospitals".

"Because if you don’t have a real defending shield and some powerful artillery… of course, you will lose people," added the president.

US assistance to Ukraine

The United States has been unable to allocate new funding for assistance to Ukraine for several months.

Recently, the US Senate supported a bill providing $60 billion for Ukraine. However, for it to take effect, the document must be supported by the House of Representatives and signed by President Joe Biden.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has so far refused to bring the initiative to a vote. He wants assistance to Ukraine to be voted on tied to funds for border protection.

Recently, Biden said that he is ready to meet with Johnson to discuss assistance to Ukraine.
