Ukraine-Russia talks only after ceasefire - US State Department

Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are possible only after a complete ceasefire. The only path to this is discussions between the teams in Saudi Arabia, according to US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce's statement during a briefing.
A US State Department spokesperson stated that discussions on differences between Ukraine and Russia will only be possible after a complete ceasefire. She emphasized that the path to this lies through technical discussions currently taking place in Saudi Arabia, negotiations between leaders, diplomatic meetings, and other diplomatic efforts.
It was also noted that talks in Saudi Arabia include discussions on a moratorium on strikes in the Black Sea. The main goal of these negotiations is the full restoration of peaceful trade activity in the region.
Saudi Arabia negotiations
On March 24, representatives of the US and Russia held another round of negotiations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The talks lasted for more than 12 hours.
Earlier, it was reported that following the negotiations in Riyadh, the US delegation aimed to reach an agreement with representatives from Ukraine and Russia on a ceasefire in the Black Sea to ensure free navigation.
On March 23, negotiations took place in Riyadh between delegations from the US and Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the discussion was constructive and substantive, addressing key issues, including those in the energy sector.
Additionally, it was reported that Ukrainian and US officials will hold a second round of talks in Saudi Arabia following the US-Russia negotiations.
