Ukraine and Russia complete new round of prisoner exchange: Who was released

On Tuesday, June 10, Ukraine and Russia conducted another prisoner exchange. Severely wounded and injured soldiers from certain categories, agreed upon during negotiations in Istanbul on June 2, were released, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We continue returning our people, as agreed in Istanbul. Today marks the first stage of the return of our seriously wounded and injured soldiers from Russian captivity. All of them require immediate medical attention. This is an important humanitarian act," Zelenskyy said.

Kyiv hit hardest as Russia launches 322 drones and missiles overnight

On the night of June 10, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 322 air targets. The main target of the attack was Kyiv, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Air Force, the enemy used:

  • 315 Shahed-type attack drones and imitator drones from the directions of Kursk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia);
  • 2 KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region;
  • 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Kursk region.

Zelenskyy says Russia admits its memorandum is ultimatum

The Russian delegation openly stated that its memorandum is an ultimatum for Ukraine. Moscow knows that Kyiv will not accept such conditions, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the Hungarian outlet Válasz Online.

"We want to end the war, but this requires the will of both parties. If the other party is not ready for this, it will always come up with something. They even told our delegation: we know that our memorandum is an ultimatum, and you will not accept it. Thus, the question is not the quality of the Istanbul format, but what to do about the Russians' lies," he added.

US to cut Ukraine weapons budget in 2026, says Pentagon chief

In 2026, the US intends to reduce its budget for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine, stated US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Associated Press reports.

"It is a reduction in this budget," Hegseth said during a hearing in the US House of Representatives, responding to questions from congressmen about future arms deliveries to Ukraine.

According to him, "this administration takes a very different view of that conflict (the war between Russia and Ukraine – ed.)."
