In February, the Ukrainian state budget will lose more than 7 billion hryvnias of revenue due to the blockade of the border by Polish farmers, says the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev.

"If the border is not unblocked by the end of the month, the country's budget will lose 7.7 billion hryvnias," Hetmantsev wrote, commenting on the protests of Polish farmers on the border with Ukraine.

He clarified that the customs will fall short of the plan for February by this amount.

"It is very noticeable for us. Especially in February," the people's deputy emphasized.

Polish blockade of border with Ukraine

Last week Polish farmers blocked three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine: Medyka - Shehyni, Hrebenne - Rawa-Ruska and Dorohusk-Jagodzin.

The movement of trucks is significantly complicated at the checkpoints listed above.

Today, February 15, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held talks with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk and suggested that he look for a solution to the problem.

In an interview with RBC-Ukraine, DPSU spokesman Andriy Demchenko spoke in more detail about the situation at the border.
