Ukraine reveals how many missiles and drones were stopped in Russia's latest attack

Russia launched another overnight attack on Ukraine using guided air-to-surface missiles, attack drones, loitering munitions, and decoy UAVs. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted most of the incoming targets.
For the latest strike, Russia deployed:
- 2 Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles;
- 94 aerial attack weapons, including Shahed attack drones (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera and Italmas drones, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodiya decoy drones.
The aerial assault originated from the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as Russia's Kursk, Millerovo, and Oryol regions, and temporarily occupied Donetsk.
The following forces were involved in repelling the attack:
- fighter aviation;
- anti-aircraft missile units;
- electronic warfare and unmanned systems units;
- mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
"According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 81 enemy UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones over northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine," the Ukrainian Air Force said.
The military also reported that one missile and nine attack drones struck targets at nine separate locations. In addition, one missile failed to reach its target.
"The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety precautions. Let's keep the sky secure!" Ukraine's defenders urged.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Moscow came under a large-scale drone attack overnight on July 20.
We also reported that the number of people injured in Zaporizhzhia after Russian guided bomb strikes rose sharply.
In addition, it emerged that Russian state media largely avoided showing Ukrainian strikes on Wildberries facilities.
