Ukrainian defenders attacked the Ryazan oil refinery and many other facilities deep inside Russia during the night. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the destruction of the strategic enterprise.

On the night of September 5, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, struck the Ryazan oil refinery.

According to preliminary data, a strike was recorded on the ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil refining facility, with an estimated capacity of 6 million tons of oil per year.

Ukraine's General Staff revealed details of the strike on the Ryazan Oil Refinery and several other Russian targets. According to the Ukrainian military, the Ryazan Oil Refinery, with a design capacity of 17.1 million tons of oil per year, is one of the four largest oil refineries in Russia. It produces:

  • Various grades of gasoline,
  • Diesel fuel,
  • Jet fuel,
  • Liquefied gases,
  • Other petroleum products.

The facility is involved in supplying the Russian army.

In addition, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted fire damage on the positions of two S-400 Triumph air defense missile systems in Russia's Kaluga region.

According to preliminary data, the command and control vehicle and the control point were hit.

In addition, units of the Security Service of Ukraine successfully attacked a warehouse of engineering ammunition and UAVs of the Russian troops in the area of the temporarily occupied city of Luhansk. As a result, a secondary detonation occurred at the facility, followed by a fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian troops, ensuring the supply of fuel, lubricants, and ammunition to the invading army, and forcing Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.

Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces Robert 'Magyar' Brovdi also said that on the night of September 5, the Unmanned Systems Forces attacked fuel infrastructure facilities in Russia and the occupied territory.

According to him, the Ryazan oil refinery and an oil depot in Luhansk were hit.

It was reported that Ukrainian drones had again attacked the Ryazan oil refinery—numerous photos and videos of a large-scale fire that broke out after the explosions appeared on social media.

Meanwhile, Russian authorities said that air defense and electronic warfare systems had allegedly destroyed eight drones over the region.

According to them, there were no casualties or damage to residential buildings or infrastructure. At the same time, they acknowledged that debris had fallen on the territory of an industrial enterprise.

The oil refinery in Ryazan was hit again, with the previous attack taking place on August 2.
