Ukraine returns six more children from occupied part of Kherson region
Another six families with children were successfully evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. Among them are two boys and four girls aged between 3 and 12 years, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
"Another six families have been evacuated from the temporarily occupied communities in the Kherson region. They include two boys and four girls, aged between 3 and 12 years," Prokudin reported.
He stated that both the adults and children are now safe. Medical professionals and psychologists are working with them to help the families adapt more quickly to their new circumstances.
"This return, like many others, was made possible thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the organization Save Ukraine," the head of the regional administration noted.
Deportation of Ukrainian children
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russians have been deporting Ukrainian children en masse to Belarus, Russia, and occupied Crimea. They also detain Ukrainians in temporarily occupied territories.
According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, Russia has illegally deported over 19,000 Ukrainian children.
It is important to note that the deportation of Ukrainian children was a key reason for the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and the Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.
