Ukraine returns more territories in a month than Russia seized in a year - British intelligence
Over a month, Ukrainian forces have managed to reclaim more territory than the Russian occupiers seized in a year, according to Richard Moore, the head of British intelligence, as quoted by CNN.
Moore stated that he is "optimistic" about Ukraine's chances of winning the war against Russia, as the Russian forces have lost momentum on the battlefield.
He noted that Ukraine had regained more territory in a month than the Russians managed to capture in a year. In his opinion, there is little chance that the Russian military will be able to regain its pace.
According to him, the head of British intelligence is convinced that Ukraine will "determine" the war's end, as most conflicts end with specific negotiations.
Ukraine's сounteroffensive
Some of Ukraine's allies have mentioned that the Ukrainian military counteroffensive is progressing slower than expected.
The US National Security Council reported that the Russians had built several lines of defense on the occupied territory of Ukraine for several months, which slowed down the advancement of Ukrainian forces.
Furthermore, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that he is irritated by comments about the "slow" counteroffensive, as our defenders with blood gain each meter.
Commander of the Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, also emphasized that all Ukrainians expect rapid results from the counteroffensive, but it is impossible.
Over the past week, Ukrainian defenders have liberated almost 18 square kilometers of territory east and south from the occupation.
