Ukraine plans to produce weapons with France using Russian asset funds

Ukraine proposes joint weapon production with France, using revenue from frozen Russian assets, according to the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
As reported, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Serhii Boev held a meeting with the French President's Special Representative for Ukraine's Aid and Reconstruction, Pierre Elbrun. The parties discussed weapons production.
Ukraine proposes to establish joint enterprises with French defense companies based on needs. The Ministry of Defence has suggested several projects that could be financed using revenue from frozen Russian assets.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Ukraine's critical needs remain air defence and missile defence systems, interceptor missiles for existing systems, heavy armored vehicles, and ammunition.
"In addition to investment and production development, Ukraine is also interested in purchasing ready-made weapons. The needs remain significant, the situation at the front is dynamic, so we require quick solutions," said Boev.
French assistance
It is worth noting that France is currently one of Ukraine's key partners. The country provides military aid to Ukraine, including artillery, Mirage 2000 aircraft, armored vehicles, ammunition, long-range missiles, air defense systems, and other weapons.
Additionally, French President Emmanuel Macron was the first to propose considering the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine.
France also supports Ukraine's European integration and its path to NATO. Recently, Macron visited Washington, where he and US President Donald Trump discussed the war in Ukraine.
