This year, Ukraine is opening offices in Berlin and Copenhagen to sell surplus weapons produced through co-production, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during a briefing.

"We are opening two export capitals. You know this is co-production and export — the weapons we can afford to sell — to generate additional funds for our domestic production of scarce items that we currently lack money for," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, the first two capitals where Ukrainian offices will be established are Berlin and Copenhagen.

"This has been decided at the level of the companies involved in co-production and at the state level. It will happen this year," the president noted.

He added that Ukraine’s contracts with EU countries will be handled by Presidential Advisor Oleksandr Kamyshin.

"Legally, everything will be set up, and contracts will be developed. Oleksandr Kamyshin is handling Europe; he will represent Ukrainian exports on the European continent," the head of state explained.

In addition, Zelenskyy said work is currently ongoing with countries in the Middle East and the US.

"The US team regarding the drone deal will be in Ukraine next week," the president said.

Export of Ukrainian weapons

In September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is preparing agreements for the controlled export of weapons.

The head of state also emphasized that exporting certain types of weapons in surplus could provide Ukraine with additional funding to produce scarce systems.

Moreover, according to him, in addition to Europe, the US, and the Middle East, African countries are also showing active interest in Ukrainian weapons.
