"We are considering all possible enemy actions. We are preparing and reviewing all threatening directions, and you know that we are carrying out a number of measures aimed at preventing these actions," he stressed.
Syrskyi urged caution when assessing information about the likelihood of a mobilization announcement in Russia. At the same time, he acknowledged that such a risk always exists.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that the Kremlin is unlikely to take this step in the near future. In his view, it will most likely occur after the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, scheduled for September 18–20, 2026.
Syrskyi previously stated that Russia’s losses in the full-scale war exceed the pace of mobilization in Russia.
He said that since the beginning of this year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have killed or seriously wounded 183,500 Russian soldiers. At the same time, Russia mobilized 180,500 people over the same period.
Recently, the Russian independent outlet Vazhnye Istorii reported that volunteer inflow into the Russian army has declined even in regions that were previously leaders in the number of contract soldiers.
Journalists noted that due to personnel shortages, discussions are underway in Moscow about various ways to replenish the army, including the possibility of mobilization after the autumn State Duma elections.
