Ukraine may receive additional NATO aid in 2025
In 2025, Ukraine may receive additional aid from NATO, as agreed upon by numerous Alliance member countries, RBC Ukraine reports, citing NATO's Senior Representative in Ukraine Patrick Turner.
According to a high-ranking official, NATO has committed to providing security assistance totaling more than €40 billion ($42 billion) for 2024.
"Next year, at the summit in The Hague, this amount will be reviewed. Nearly €21 billion ($22 billion - ed.) in aid was provided in the first half of 2024. We are doing everything to ensure that all our promised contributions are fulfilled by the end of the year," stated Patrick Turner.
In addition, NATO countries will discuss aid for Ukraine in 2025 at a meeting of Alliance defense ministers in February next year.
"We know that many member states of the Alliance have pledged additional aid. This includes our allies in Europe and the United States. So, we are talking about additional volumes of assistance," noted NATO's Senior Representative in Ukraine.
NATO aid to Ukraine
NATO consistently supports Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. In July, NATO established the Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) initiative, which will operate in Alliance countries.
Earlier, NATO also committed to providing €40 billion in funding for Ukraine over the next year.
