Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is considering ways to strengthen protection against Russian aerial bombs and develop comprehensive solutions to counter Russian aviation, according to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Discussion on protection against aerial bombs
According to the President, a recent meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief focused in detail on countering Russian aerial bombs and protecting Ukrainian positions from such threats.
The discussion focused on a comprehensive approach that includes both measures to neutralize Russian aircraft and the development of Ukraine’s own long-range capabilities.
Special attention was also given to efforts aimed at creating Ukrainian analogues of relevant weapons systems.
Technological solutions and scaling up
Zelenskyy said that all available technological solutions and existing requests that could help strengthen Ukraine’s defenses have now been collected.
Development of defense capabilities
The President stressed that Ukraine will continue developing its own defense technologies without pause.
This includes expanding capabilities to counter aerial threats and creating conditions for more effective defense.
He added that Ukraine has the necessary potential to accomplish these tasks and further strengthen its defense capabilities.
Zelenskyy previously said that the spring and summer period of 2026 could become one of the most difficult and decisive stages for Ukraine, both on the battlefield and in the sphere of international diplomacy.
The Ukrainian President also recently announced preparations for a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner exchange and said the Russian side had already received the relevant lists.
