The report noted that troops from the 3rd Assault Battalion of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment held their positions and carried out counterattacks throughout the operation. This is a unique case where a unit maintained positions and advanced for over 100 days.
All defenders involved in the operation have been nominated for state awards.
Fighting in the Dnipropetrovsk region
At the end of August, the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops reported that Russian forces had breached into the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Analysts from DeepState said Russian forces had captured the villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka.
Since then, active fighting has continued in the region.
Last week, it was reported that Ukrainian forces stopped a mechanized assault by the enemy in the Dnipropetrovsk region, inflicting losses on Russian troops.
