Ukraine knocks out 5 Russian air defense systems at 2 airfields

Defense Forces of Ukraine launched a massive overnight strike on the Russian military airfields Yeysk and Millerovo on August 30. The operation destroyed five air defense assets, ammunition depots, and technical facilities used by Russian forces, according to Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, and a statement from the developers of Fire Point UAVs.
Damage at Yeysk airfield
Units of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces used FP-1 drones to carry out precision strikes on the military airfield and nearby populated areas in Russia's Krasnodar Krai.
The attack destroyed:
- Pantsir-S1 air defense missile-gun system
- Sopka-2 (12L6) radar
- Kasta 2E2 radar (near the settlement of Shabelskoye)
- An aviation weapons depot.
According to NASA satellite imagery and geolocation data, large fires broke out at the site in at least three locations following the explosions.

Strikes on Millerovo airfield
In Russia's Rostov region, Ukrainian drones targeted facilities at the Millerovo airfield and near the settlement of Dolotinka. The following were destroyed at the site:
- RSP-27 (DRL-27) and Nebo-SV radars
- Ammunition depots
- A technical and maintenance facility.
DRL-27 module was the main target of the strike. This is an airfield control radar, a critical component of air traffic management, that operates as part of an integrated system with the PRL-27 landing radar.
All losses of Russian equipment and infrastructure were confirmed by follow-up reconnaissance data.
Overnight strikes on facilities in Russia
As previously reported, Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of successful operations on Russian territory overnight on August 30.
In particular, the Armed Forces units struck three key Russian military-industrial facilities at once—a refinery, a drone storage facility, and a military airfield came under attack.
Also, on August 29 and overnight into August 30, Ukrainian forces struck ammunition depots, command posts, and radars operated by Russian forces as part of a systematic campaign targeting Russia's critical assets.
