Ukraine identifies over 60,000 Russians who died on its soil amid war
Ukraine's police successfully gathered information and identified over 60,000 occupiers who perished on Ukrainian soil during the war, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
According to officials, details of the deceased occupiers have been posted on a dedicated website called "Poter.NET" (NO.Losses). The creation of this site was a joint effort of Defense Intelligence, a military POW handling headquarters, and the National Police.
One of the main objectives of the website is to counter Kremlin propaganda by providing objective data regarding Russia's losses in the war.
Since the website's launch, there has been a significant increase in the number of Russian military personnel surrendering as prisoners of war.
As of August 4, the website contains information on 61,431 identified Russian occupiers who lost their lives on Ukrainian territory.
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces continue their offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. They are consolidating their positions on achieved frontlines. Approximately 40 combat clashes occurred on the frontlines in the past 24 hours.
According to Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar, Ukrainian forces have managed to break the first line of Russian defense in certain sections of the southern frontline. Currently, they have reached the middle defense line.
