Russian troops are attempting to capture the settlements of Kamianske and Plavni to continue their advance toward Prydniprovske and reach the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia. Ukrainian defense forces are holding their positions firmly and repelling all attacks, said Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces.

According to Voloshyn, Ukrainian troops have positions in both Kamianske and Plavni in the Zaporizhzhia region.

"The enemy has been trying all summer to push us out of Kamianske and Plavni. These attempts continue to fail. Yesterday, for example, their tactic was to completely level all positions in Kamianske,” Voloshyn said. He added that the enemy has virtually destroyed the settlement.

However, he said that Ukrainian forces are holding their ground and preventing the Russian army from fully capturing the settlement.

"From Kamianske and Plavni, which are located slightly west on the shore of the former Kakhovka Reservoir, the enemy could, first, advance toward the next settlement, Stepnohirsk, and another settlement, Prydniprovske. This would effectively allow them to reach the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia," the military official explained.

Voloshyn emphasized that Ukrainian defenders are reliably holding and repelling all these attacks.

Fighting for Kamianske

Previously, analysts from the DeepState service marked Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region as occupied on their interactive map.

However, the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine denied this information, stressing that the situation in Kamianske is complex and dynamic, and Ukrainian troops continue to hold positions on the northern and northeastern outskirts of the settlement.

Voloshyn also noted that the Russian troops cannot consolidate control in Kamianske, as their attempts have failed due to the destruction of positions where they could have entrenched themselves.
