Units of Ukraine's Defense Forces carried out a series of effective strikes against Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories during the night of December 8, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To reduce the enemy's logistical and combat capabilities, an ammunition depot was struck in the area of Chmyrivka in the occupied Luhansk region. A warehouse containing Russian military drones near the occupied Donetsk was also destroyed.
In the area of Simeikyne village in the Luhansk region, the Defense Forces hit the enemy’s fuel and lubricants depot, significantly affecting its ability to supply troops with fuel.
In addition, to weaken Russian air defenses, a mobile fire group and a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system were hit in the Donetsk region. The extent of the damage is being assessed.
Strike on Temryuk
The General Staff also released updated information on the consequences of the December 5 strike on the Temryuk seaport in Russia's Krasnodar region, which is used to support the Russian army.
Twenty storage tanks - about 70% of the total - have been confirmed destroyed. A fire at the liquefied gas loading rack continues: as of the evening of December 7, the fire covered nearly 1,000 square meters, with several dozen rail tank cars located nearby.
"The Defense Forces continue taking measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and to force the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff emphasized.
Other strikes on Russia
On the night of November 14, Ukraine's Defense Forces attacked the base of Russian Navy ships in the port of Novorossiysk in Russia's Krasnodar region. As a result, port infrastructure and the Sheskharis oil terminal were damaged.
Shortly after the strike, it became known that the Novorossiysk port urgently suspended oil exports, and a state of emergency was declared in the city.
According to Reuters on November 18, oil loading at the port is 2–3 days behind schedule. The delay was caused by damage from Ukrainian drones, which reduced the throughput capacity of a key terminal berth.
