Ukraine has the legitimate right to defend itself, including "striking the aggressor on its territory," states Peter Stano, spokesperson for the European Commission on foreign policy, in a comment to Suspilne.

Commenting on the events in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Stano stated that Ukraine, according to international law, has the legitimate right to defend itself, including by striking the aggressor on its territory.

He specifically noted that the European Union (EU) fully supports Ukraine's legitimate right to defend itself against Russian aggression and the country's efforts to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
