Ukraine faces tough times, but Russia can be stopped, Zelenskyy asserts
At the moment, Ukraine is in a very challenging situation, but Russia can be stopped geopolitically and financially, says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the German TV channel ARD.
In response to the question of what gives hope that the war may end in 2024, Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges belief in oneself, the people, Ukraine, partners, and peace. He emphasizes that any war eventually comes to an end, but currently, the country is facing a very challenging moment.
"I believe that we are in a very challenging moment. Russia can be stopped both geopolitically and financially. We must prevent the destruction of Ukraine, the annihilation of our nation. Prevent global migration. Prevent a third world war," adds the president.
When will the war in Ukraine end
According to Zelenskyy, no one, even commanders, can currently provide an answer to this question.
"When they say they don't know how long the war will last for many years, these are just thoughts. Thoughts very often differ from reality," explained the country's leader.
Back in November 2023, comparing the war to a 100-meter race, according to the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already covered 70 meters.
