Ukrainian defenders are intensifying counterattacks along the line of contact. For the first time, they have "overtaken" Russian forces in the number of assaults carried out per day, states Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in an interview with Militarnyi.

According to him, the intensity and number of combat operations by the Russian occupying forces have decreased. At the same time, Ukrainian troops have become more active in conducting offensive actions.

"For example, yesterday (the general did not specify the exact day — ed.), the situation was characterized by the fact that the number of our offensive actions for the first time exceeded the number of offensive actions by the enemy," Syrskyi said.

He explained that the number of Ukrainian counterattacks and offensive actions was higher than that of the occupying forces.

"But we must not relax, because the enemy is strong," Syrskyi stressed.

Ukrainian forces' successes

In February, Ukrainian defenders managed to carry out successful counteroffensive actions.

According to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, in February, Ukrainian troops regained more territory than Russian occupying forces managed to seize.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in the south, Ukrainian troops de-occupied territory of up to 435 square kilometers.

Several days ago, Syrskyi also stated that Ukrainian forces had achieved successes on the Oleksandrivskyi direction, which is one of the hottest sectors.
