Ukraine is ready to negotiate with Russia at a certain stage. However, the Russian side has not shown any willingness, according to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Kuleba made the statement during talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He conveyed to his Chinese counterpart Ukraine’s consistent position, which is the readiness to negotiate with Russia at a certain stage when Russia is prepared to negotiate in good faith.

At the same time, the minister emphasized that there is currently no such willingness observed from the Russian side.

Kuleba also briefed the Chinese minister on the outcomes of the peace summit in Switzerland and explained the logic behind the next steps in implementing the peace formula.

"Russian aggression is not only an obstacle to Ukraine's development. It also hinders international stability, the development of good neighborly relations, and in particular the development of trade between China and Europe," Kuleba said.

Kuleba’s visit to China

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has arrived in China. The US State Department has positively assessed the visit of the Ukrainian minister.

Kuleba held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Guangzhou. The sides discussed cooperation between the countries as well as the war.

China emphasized its support for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. However, Beijing acknowledges that the conditions and timing for negotiations have not yet matured.
