Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Guangzhou, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Wang Yi emphasized the friendship and cooperation between China and Ukraine, noting that both countries have been strategic partners for over ten years. He also stated that China will continue to maintain contact with Ukraine, strengthen mutual trust, and develop cooperation.

China has promised to continue importing food from Ukraine and supporting logistical corridors. Wang Yi expressed gratitude to Ukraine for its assistance in evacuating Chinese citizens at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion and hopes for the continued safety of Chinese personnel in Ukraine.

Wang Yi also discussed the war in Ukraine, stressing China's commitment to a political resolution of the conflict and support for peace negotiations.

Kuleba acknowledged the strategic partnership between Ukraine and China and expressed support for the "One China" principle.

At the same time, Kuleba stated that Ukraine highly appreciates China's constructive role in strengthening peace and international order.

"Having carefully studied the Six-Point Consensus between China and Brazil, Ukraine has expressed readiness for reasonable and constructive negotiations with Russia to achieve a just and lasting peace," the statement said.

The parties also discussed international and regional issues of mutual interest.

Kuleba's visit to China

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported on Dmytro Kuleba's planned visit to China from July 23 to 25. Chinese representative Mao Ning clarified that the consensus reached between the two countries' leaders and bilateral relations will be discussed during the visit.

Meanwhile, Kuleba noted that in Beijing, he plans to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on achieving a just peace and avoiding competition between peace plans.
