On July 4, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck a plant producing warheads for Shahed UAVs. The enterprise is located in the city of Sergiev Posad, Moscow region of Russia, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Unmanned Systems Forces report.

It concerns the targeting of an important military facility on Russian territory - the Federal Research and Production Center Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry JSC in the city of Sergiyev Posad, Moscow region. It is located more than 500 km from the state border of Ukraine.

This enterprise is part of the state corporation Rostec and is under international sanctions for participating in Russian military programs.

In particular, this facility produces more than 500 types of special pyrotechnic devices for missile, rocket-space, and artillery systems, as well as thermobaric warheads for Shahed kamikaze drones, which Russia regularly uses to attack Ukrainian cities.

The Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine's Armed Forces specified that the strike on the facility was carried out by operators of the 14th Separate UAV Regiment. Due to the attack, a drone hit, a large fire, and heavy smoke were recorded. Reports also indicate that an electrical substation supplying the enterprise was hit.

The results of the operation are still being clarified, but the Ukrainian military emphasize that the strike was aimed at reducing Russia’s capability to carry out air strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
