Ukraine can share drone tech in exchange for funds - Zelenskyy

Ukraine possesses some of the world's most advanced drone technologies but requires investment. Kyiv is ready to share its expertise in a mutually beneficial exchange format, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has some of the world's most advanced drone technologies for both offensive and defensive purposes and is ready to share this expertise with its partners.
He emphasized that Ukraine could help its allies strengthen their defense capabilities by leveraging the knowledge it has already gained.
Zelenskyy also noted that while Ukraine needs investment, its partners need skills and technology — and everything being developed to protect Ukraine could also contribute to their own security.
Ukrainian defense production
Following Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, Ukraine drastically shifted its focus toward domestic weapons manufacturing.
Amid the extreme conditions of war, the country began actively expanding its defense-industrial base — particularly in the production of drones, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and ammunition.
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's defense production potential now exceeds $35 billion. However, he noted that around 40% of this capacity still lacks the necessary funding.
Ukrainian weapons will also be manufactured in Denmark, with an agreement already signed in Copenhagen.
Additionally, in March 2024, it was revealed that German defense giant Rheinmetall plans to build at least four arms production plants in Ukraine.
