Ukrainian forces successfully struck a Russian base in Melitopol. Five personnel were killed, along with a key Russian command center, reports the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

On July 10, a powerful explosion occurred at a factory in temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region.

According to intelligence, Russian forces had set up a logistics base at the factory. They also stationed personnel and military equipment there. At the time of the explosion, the Russians were unloading transport.

"The detonation happened while the Russians were 'relaxing' and unloading military transport. Five personnel from the so-called Russian National Guard were eliminated," the Defense Intelligence said.

The blast also destroyed a satellite communication station. The Russian army planned to use it to control occupation forces in southern Ukraine.

Disabling this system will disrupt Russian coordination in the region, according to Ukrainian intelligence.

The operation was carried out successfully with support from the resistance movement active in the occupied territories.

Earlier, explosions had been reported multiple times near the Hydromash factory. At the start of 2023, partisans reported that Russians had set up an ammunition storage site there.
