Ukraine blows up large ammunition depot in Russia's Voronezh region
On the night of August 24, Ukrainian intelligence blew up a large ammunition depot in the Voronezh region of Russia, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
“On August 24, 2024, the DIU's military inflicted a successful fire attack on a field ammunition depot located near the settlement of Ostrogozhsk, Voronezh region of Russia,” the statement said.
According to the DIU, the depot belonged to the western group of troops of the Russian armed forces.
The territory of the military facility housed artillery and tank shells, as well as small arms ammunition and surface-to-air missiles - a total of more than 5,000 tons of ammunition.

On the night of August 24, explosions rocked the Voronezh region. The Russians claimed a drone attack, while online reports indicated that there were two waves of attacks during the night.
After the explosions, a large-scale fire broke out in the Ostrogozhsky district of the Voronezh region. The reports said that an ammunition depot was on fire.
Later it became known that a state of emergency was introduced in the Voronezh region after the night attack.
