In Kyiv, a meeting took place between the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, and the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. Discussions centered around expectations for the upcoming NATO summit, according to the official website of the President of Ukraine.

Yermak expressed gratitude to the U.S. for robust defense and economic aid. He emphasized that the continuation of this comprehensive support is critically important for Ukraine to achieve victory.

"Last year has become record-breaking in terms of the Ukrainian-American relations development. The President of Ukraine and his team are committed to maintaining the high dynamics of bilateral dialogue that strengthens Ukraine's capabilities to effectively combat the aggressor," stated the Head of the Office of the President.

Yermak provided an update on the frontline situation, emphasizing the urgent need for weapons and military equipment for Ukrainian forces. He underscored the critical importance of the continued military assistance from the U.S. for Ukraine. Additionally, the Head of the Office highlighted Ukraine's firm commitment to bringing back all soldiers held in enemy captivity.

Discussions also centered on expectations for the NATO summit scheduled for July 2024 in Washington.

"The President of Ukraine and our citizens expect that the NATO Summit will properly assess Ukraine's efforts on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration and make historic decisions regarding our country," stated the Head of the President's Office.

Aid from the U.S. to Ukraine

Earlier, it was reported that the U.S. had sent Ground Launched Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDB) to the Ukrainian military. These are lightweight, small-diameter bombs designed to be launched near the front lines.
