U.S. GLSDB bombs en route to Ukrainian military, Nuland states
American GLSDB bombs are already heading to the front for use by Ukrainian forces. This is happening as part of the aid from the United States, according to a statement of Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland at a briefing in Kyiv.
She reminds that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russians, Ukrainian defenders have managed to deoccupy 50% of the territory that the aggressor tried to seize. Significant damage has also been inflicted on the Russian ground forces and the Black Sea Fleet, leading to the growth of the Ukrainian economy from 4% to 5%, something "countries around the world should envy."
Nuland also emphasizes that the United States continues to provide assistance to Ukraine in the security sphere.
"...including new investments and new weapon systems, like the small diameter bomb (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb, GLSDB - Ed.), that is on its way to the front, and to support the regeneration of Ukraine's defense-industrial base and our own to ensure that we can continue to fight against those who want to steal our freedom," Nuland notes.
The Deputy Secretary of State also mentions that in Kyiv, she discussed the climate for international investments and the continuation of the development of Ukrainian institutions needed to combat corruption and the shadow economy.
