Ukraine–US talks
Earlier, on March 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced upcoming negotiations with US officials.
At that time, he noted that Ukraine’s political negotiation subgroup was heading to the US.
Today, March 20, the Ukrainian president clarified that the talks will take place without Russian participation.
Zelenskyy said the Ukrainian side plans to discuss three key topics:
-
A specific date for a new trilateral meeting with Russia.
-
Contacts with the US and concerns over Washington’s decision to suspend part of the sanctions on Russian energy, which directly affects the war against Ukraine.
-
Documents on security guarantees and Ukraine’s recovery.
The Ukraine–Russia–US negotiations are currently on pause, as the US is focusing primarily on operations against Iran.
