Ukraine and US companies to launch joint defense production - Zelenskyy

Leading US companies are ready not only to make new investments in Ukrainian defense technologies but also to launch joint production, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, he held a meeting in New York with executives from more than 30 leading US companies, as well as members of the Economic Advisory Group.
The central topic of the talks was assistance to Ukraine that would help the country get through the winter.
"There will be new investments in defense technologies and joint production, and we also have agreements on joint energy projects. It is the strengthening of our resilience across different areas that is the main task for our state and our partners ahead of the winter season," Zelenskyy stressed.
The creation of a sovereign wealth fund, war risk insurance, and financing already available to US investors were also discussed.
"We greatly value everyone who is already working with Ukraine, and we expect to see more and more partnerships like these. Thank you!" the president concluded.
What is known about Ukraine's agreement with Raytheon
Zelenskyy recently said that US company Raytheon, which manufactures missiles for Patriot air defense systems, is ready to establish its production directly in Ukraine.
According to the president, Kyiv has already asked US President Donald Trump to speed up the process as much as possible.
Against this backdrop, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine already needs licenses to prepare for Patriot production.
According to the president, the project could be launched within the next year.
