Ukraine and Tomahawks: What came out of Ramstein meeting, according to Shmyhal

During the Ramstein meeting, Ukraine discussed all types of long-range missiles with the US. Once received, they would be combined with deep strikes against Russian targets, stated Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal after the 31st Ramstein meeting.
Shmyhal said the meeting covered successful deep strikes on Russian territory, including attacks on refineries and fuel infrastructure.
"We will continue such operations in the deep rear of Russia against refineries, against military infrastructure… But this is not enough to pressure Russia to stop the war and bring Putin to the negotiating table," the minister said.
He emphasized that Ukraine needs to combine sanctions with deep strikes and pressure on the frontlines. He added that deep strikes should be combined with long-range missiles.
"We discussed all types of deep strike missiles, but I think that concrete names and concrete dates will be announced by the Presidents of Ukraine and the US or leaders of the other countries," Shmyhal said.
Tomahawk for Ukraine
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that before deciding on Tomahawks, he plans to speak with Vladimir Putin and urge him to end the war. If Russia refuses, the US may agree to transfer these missiles to Ukraine.
According to Stacie Pettyjohn, director of the defense program at the Center for a New American Security think tank, the US could provide Ukraine with only 20 to 50 Tomahawk missiles, which are unlikely to change the course of the war.
The US Department of War has already developed a plan to sell or transfer long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine in case President Trump gives the green light.
