Ukraine and Russia's biggest prisoner swap yet to take three days, sources say

Ukraine and Russia are conducting the largest prisoner exchange since the beginning of the war. It will last several days, according to RBC-Ukraine sources and the Financial Times.
Sources said that the 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner swap would continue for three days.
The FT, citing unnamed Ukrainian officials, reports that the exchange involves mostly military personnel, but civilians will also return home.
One of the FT's sources also says that Russia refused to release any of its high-ranking prisoners.
Prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia
Ukraine and Russia agreed to a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner exchange at negotiations in Istanbul. It was the key result of the meeting between the two countries' delegations.
Yesterday, May 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the country had received lists of names for exchange from Russia.
Deputy head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War Andrii Yusov told RBC-Ukraine that Ukraine also passed such a list of names to Russia.
US President Donald Trump wrote today, May 23, that the large prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia has already been completed. However, RBC-Ukraine's sources refuted his claim as the exchange is ongoing.
