The spokesperson of the US Department of State, Tammy Bruce, stated that the Russian Federation (RF) and Ukraine are close to a complete ceasefire. After this, discussions about a lasting peace will be possible, The Hill reports.

"We are just a breath away from a full ceasefire, and then we can begin to talk about not just peace for a week or six months, but an enduring peace that the people of Ukraine and Russia and the world can rely on and that is what America has helped facilitate, and that’s what we’re continuing to do each day," Bruce stated on the "NewsNation Now" program.

Possible 30-day truce

In March, the US delegation proposed implementing a 30-day ceasefire along the frontline to Kyiv.

This issue was also discussed between the US and Russia. Dictator Vladimir Putin agreed to a mutual halt of strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days. However, he also put forward a series of demands for Ukraine.

More details on what the parties have agreed upon, according to both the White House and the Kremlin, can be found in RBC-Ukraine's report.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has noted that Russia’s demands are an attempt by the enemy to weaken Ukraine.
