Ukraine will sign an agreement with Poland on security guarantees. The final round of negotiations has taken place, according to the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The final round of talks was led by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva. The Ukrainian delegation included Deputy Head of the Office Roman Mashovets and First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. The Polish delegation was headed by Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Robert Kupiecki.

"Our negotiating teams have done a complex job, and now we are close to concluding a bilateral security agreement," emphasized Ihor Zhovkva.

According to him, the agreement with Poland will be ambitious. The document will reflect most of the joint achievements and plans for the future.

The parties agreed to sign the agreement "in the near future".

What happened before

Ukraine has already signed 17 agreements on security guarantees with other countries this year.

In particular, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently signed such documents with US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
