Ukraine and Czechia have signed an Agreement on Cooperation in Combating Crime and Ensuring Public Order and Security, according to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that cooperation with Czech counterparts in combating crime is among the most active in Europe. Since the beginning of this year alone, police departments of both countries have made over 2000 contacts.

"We successfully implement the Cybersecurity project together and participate in the Ukrainian Task Force established within Europol to prevent human trafficking," Klymenko mentioned.

According to him, the updated Agreement ensures cooperation in the prevention, detection, and combating of crime, as well as intensifies the process of exchanging information and responding to challenges faced by both countries.

Klymenko added that the previous Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Czechia in this area was concluded over 25 years ago. During this time, legislation has changed, and new law enforcement agencies have emerged.

On Tuesday, July 16, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal visited Czechia on an official visit. Following the visit, the head of the government noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already received a portion of ammunition as part of the Czech initiative, significantly improving the positions of our defenders on the front lines.

Additionally, the governments of both countries signed two agreements in the defense industry sector. This includes agreements on the production of ammunition and Colt assault rifles.

Czech President Petr Pavel stated that the current support from partners is insufficient to drive Russian forces out of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
