It is important to maintain the size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at 800,000 troops to guarantee the country's full security. However, this number could be different if Ukraine becomes a NATO member, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the head of state, he does not discuss and will not discuss the size of the Ukrainian army with either the Russian or the American side.
Against this backdrop, Zelenskyy reminded that this is a matter of an exclusively internal nature.
The president explained that if he had sufficient funding, he wanted to maintain an army of 800,000 troops. He added that if Ukraine were a member of NATO, its army could number 800,000 or fewer.

The head of state summarized that this was his question for NATO.
