Ukraine agrees on all details for US Tomahawk missile transfer, says Foreign Ministry

Ukraine sees and welcomes positive signals from the US regarding the provision of Tomahawk missiles. The technical details of using these missiles are currently being coordinated by teams from both countries, stated Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi during a briefing.
Tykhyi recalled that Ukraine had previously requested Tomahawk missiles during the presidency of Joseph Biden, the 46th president of the United States. However, at that time, the White House repeatedly denied Kyiv's requests.
"Right now, there is no 'no' response. Instead, there is a very detailed and active discussion about the possibility of providing these missiles," he said.
Tykhyi added that media questions are mainly about the technical specifics of using the Tomahawk. According to him, all technical details are being worked out by the Ukrainian and US teams.
"Currently, the Ukrainian and American teams are working to coordinate all these details, discussing all the nuances regarding in what forms and configurations the missiles can be provided to Ukraine," the spokesperson assured.
Tomahawk for Ukraine: what is known
Recently, US President Donald Trump said he has practically decided to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. He noted that he still has several questions regarding the missiles.
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that the supply of American Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine could force the Russians to sober up and sit down at the negotiating table.
Russia reacted to the news, claiming it would be a strong blow to Russian-American relations. During a speech in Dushanbe on October 10, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Russia plans to strengthen its air defense systems amid reports that the US will transfer Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine.
