Russia has lost around 1,118,000 military personnel since the start of the war in Ukraine, including up to 332,000 this year alone, according to British intelligence.

The recorded level of losses in the Russian army decreased from March to August 2025 but has been steadily rising in October, exceeding 1,000 per day between October 5 and 12.

British intelligence also cites data from the Ukrainian General Staff, showing that Russia's average daily losses last month reached 950 personnel, higher than in August.

At the same time, the enemy army's daily losses in September were the lowest since April 2024.

Latest frontline data

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia's total combat losses since the full-scale invasion in 2022 are around 1,125,150 personnel, including 1,200 in the past 24 hours.

It was also reported that recent days have seen an increase in clashes between Ukrainian forces and the enemy. The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest area.

Kremlin's next plans

British intelligence has also reported on why Russia wants to introduce year-round conscription. Analysts say the decision is partly aimed at reducing public sensitivity to mobilization.
