On Monday, October 13, fighting on the front lines remains highly intense. Since the beginning of the day, 166 combat engagements have taken place, 52 of them in the Pokrovsk direction. Russian forces continue striking with glide bombs and kamikaze drones, according to an update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, throughout the day, Russian forces carried out 73 airstrikes, dropping 134 guided bombs. In addition, 1,924 kamikaze drones were used, and 3,249 shelling incidents of Ukrainian positions and settlements were recorded.

Frontlines update

In the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions

Six attacks were recorded. Russian forces launched two airstrikes, dropped four guided bombs, and conducted 118 shelling attacks.

In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction

Fourteen combat clashes occurred near Vovchansk, Kamianka, Kutkivka, and toward Bolohivka, Dvorichanske, Kolodiazne, and Kutkivka. Four engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction

Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, and toward Kurylivka. One battle continues.

In the Lyman direction

Russian forces launched 12 assaults near Hrekivka, Shandryholove, Novoselivka, Karpivka, Torske, and toward Olhivka and Drobysheve. One engagement remains ongoing.

In the Sloviansk direction

Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy assaults near Yampil, Serebrianka, and Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction

One Russian attack near Stupochky is currently underway.

In the Kostiantynivka direction

Russian forces launched 21 assaults near Predtechyne, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Berestok, Rusyn Yar, Mykolaypil, and Poltavka. The Defense Forces repelled 20 of these attacks, holding their positions.

In the Pokrovsk direction

Russian troops attempted 52 assaults near Volodymyrivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Novoukrainka, Novoekonomichne, Balahan, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, Filiia, and toward Novopavlivka. Fighting is still ongoing.

Preliminary reports indicate that in this direction, Ukrainian forces eliminated 113 and wounded 75 Russian soldiers. They also destroyed eight armored combat vehicles, one artillery system, 20 drones, 20 vehicles, and one piece of special equipment.

Ukrainian defenders further destroyed three armored vehicles, one artillery system, ten trucks, and seven enemy personnel shelters.

In the Oleksandrivka direction

During the day, Russian troops made 23 attempts to break through near Ivanivka, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Vorone, Stepove, Novomykolayivka, Novohryhorivka, Yalta, and Sosnivka. Fighting continues in two locations.

In the Huliaipole direction

Russia did not conduct offensive operations but launched airstrikes on Barvinivka and Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv direction

Russian forces carried out four unsuccessful attacks near Stepove.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction

Russian troops conducted three assaults toward Antonivka.

Earlier, 69% of Ukrainians said they view Russia’s hybrid threat as high, naming online recruitment, fake news, and cyberattacks among the top risks.

Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent believes that intensified pressure on countries buying Russian oil could accelerate the end of the war. According to him, Europe’s introduction of large-scale secondary tariffs could bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end within the next two to three months.
