UK condemns Russian attack on Kyiv as clear proof it rejects peace

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that last night, Russia launched missiles and hundreds of drones at Ukraine, striking multiple regions. Civilians were injured, and residential buildings were destroyed.
"Russia targeted Ukraine again last night – with 14 missiles and hundreds of drones across the country. Another night of terror for Ukrainian civilians, with yet more injured and more homes destroyed," the minister stressed.
Lammy emphasized that these are not the actions of a country seeking peace.
Russian attack on Kyiv
On the evening of May 23, Ukrainian forces detected enemy strike drones moving toward the capital. Initially, Russian Shaheds were spotted over the Kyiv region. After that, explosions were heard across the city and the region as air defense forces engaged.
On the night of May 24, Russia launched one of the largest attacks on Kyiv. The enemy simultaneously used ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.
According to the Air Force of Ukraine, 14 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M/KN-23 type and 250 strike drones were launched over Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed six missiles and shot down 245 drones.
