The UK and France plan to send Rafale and Eurofighter fighter jets to Eastern Europe in response to the Russian drone strike on Poland, states Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, according to Onet.

He said that Poland’s allies have made concrete pledges of assistance following the Russian drone incident.

"The Netherlands is speeding up the delivery of two of its three Patriot batteries to Poland. They are also deciding on deploying short-range air defense and counter-drone systems, sending 300 troops," the minister added.

According to him, the Czechs have also made specific commitments. Czechia is set to send three Mi-17 helicopters, highly experienced teams, and about 1,000 soldiers to Poland.

"Both the French and the British have announced their intention to secure NATO’s eastern flank with Rafale and Eurofighter aircraft," Kosiniak-Kamysz added.

Drone attack on Poland

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles on the night of September 10. Some of the drones entered Polish airspace.

After the attack, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Russia had allegedly not intended to strike Polish territory.

According to Western media reports, some of the Russian drones were reportedly targeting a NATO base.
