U.S. sends smaller aid packages to Ukraine for support extension
The United States has started sending smaller packages of military aid to Ukraine. This tactic is believed to help extend the support, according to The Guardian.
The White House states that due to the ongoing gridlock in Congress regarding funding for Ukraine, the U.S. will be sending smaller packages of military aid to Ukraine to extend the support.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre states that the intention is to continue supporting Ukraine for as long as possible while Congress discusses new aid.
U.S. assistance
Recently, U.S. President Joe Biden requested $106 billion in aid for Ukraine and Israel from the U.S. Congress. This included $61 billion for Ukraine and $14.3 billion for Israel.
Subsequently, the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, proposed not combining new aid for Ukraine and Israel into one package. He wants the House of Representatives to vote on these initiatives separately.
Yesterday, it was reported that Johnson would introduce a package to Congress that would include funding for Ukraine's assistance and border protection.
