Today, September 25, the United States decided to strengthen sanctions against five Russian companies, according to the U.S. Federal Register.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has decided to impose export restrictions on five companies from Russia.

Who is affected by the restrictions

The Bureau of Industry and Security, which is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, has decided to impose additional restrictions against the following companies:

  1. Device Consulting
  2. Grant Instrument
  3. SMT-iLogic
  4. Streloy
  5. VSMPO-AVISMA

The government has stated that these organizations act against the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States.

What is known about these companies

VSMPO-AVISMA is a titanium manufacturer, and the corporation covers the entire technological cycle from processing to the production of finished products. The corporation's products are also exported.

According to the Department of Commerce, VSMPO-AVISMA is involved in producing items for the Russian military industry, and there is a critical risk of redirecting American defense technology.

The other four companies supplied components for drones in the interests of Russia's intelligence.

Restrictions were not only imposed on Russia

The U.S. Department of Commerce has also decided to impose export restrictions on 23 organizations from other nations around the world.

These are legal entities registered in Germany, China, the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, and Finland.

U.S. sanctions against Russia

Recently, the United States imposed a new package of sanctions against Russia. The restrictions targeted factories, banks, and ships.

Later, the United States imposed a new package of sanctions against an international network that assists Iran in manufacturing drones. Companies from Russia were subject to these restrictions.

Additionally, lawmakers in the United States have proposed a bill calling for expanded sanctions against North Korea due to its support for the Russian war.
